Advantages: Soft, tastes great

Disadvantages: Made me ill

After my little boy was 8 months old I had no excuse but to try and lose weight. I decided to eat low fat foods, try and take a salad to work and to drink lots more water. Never really been a keen fan of salads (especially tomatoes) so I was recommended to put some Philadelphia in. My work collogue was currently on a diet and said that by eating a salad at work helped her lose some weight. So I popped down to the local store and brought myself some Philadelphia Light with Garlic & Herbs - I went for this option as it seemed nicer to have some herbs in.

The soft cheese came in a plastic round tub just like your usual margarines etc. I must admit that I would not have singled this out from my regular shopping and perhaps would never have really noticed it much. Although being advertised enough - it was something that I may never have used or tried it had it not been recommended to me. So there I was cutting up my salads and popped in a dollop (not sure how much I was suppose to use but thought I could cut it down after I get used to the taste), stirred and put it in my bag for work. When I tasted it, it didn't taste like just a salad so I was happy with it and ate it all. However... after eating it I started to feel my tongue becoming slightly swollen - it felt as thought my throat was closing in slowly - thinking nothing of it I just consumed water and thought it was bug or something.

I then made a similar salad for the next day of work and again after eating it I had the same symptoms. So I knew that it was something contained in the Philadelphia - even though I had read the ingredients and have never been allergic to anything before - my Dr confirmed that I should stop eating Philadelphia Garlic and Herbs. I have had the original Philadelphia before and had no symptoms, maybe it was just a dodgy tub that I picked up but I was certainly not going to try it again. Unfortunately for this review I have marked it low as to my experience with the product but would like to state that it does not mean it is the same for everyone. Also will not be trying again ... unless I'm brave in a few years!

Summary: Tasted great but wasnt for me
