... witha delicious garlic butter. I went to pizza express with some friends a few weeks ago, none of them had ever tried dough balls (which was crazy in itself) and they all tried some of mine and they are now also addicted to having dough balls and currently our weekly visits to resturaunts now consist of going to Pizza Express! Its definitely worth trying or sharing whilst you have your starters, they are light and flufffy in the middle nicely baked on the outside and the garlic butter just tops it off - DELICIOUS!...more

Pizza Express have produced their box of dough balls with the intention that you buy them as a starter for your meal, I buy them simply because they are a tasty little snack. Although I just love pizza and all of the trappings that are associated with the Italian delight it is very rare that I buy a ready made pizza unless it has been significantly reduced in price. But these Pizza Express dough balls are one of the affordable treats at around £2.25 for a box of sixteen complete with the garlic dip. Before I move onto talk about the product I would just like to mention the stylish packaging. Pizza Express chose their colours and package design well, ...  Read the complete review

I have only fairly recently discovered the joys of Dough Balls, I tried them in an Italian restaurant in London and became hooked from the very first mouthful. When I saw that Tesco sell chilled dough balls made by Pizza Express I decided to buy a box as a treat for myself and my granddaughters' with a pizza and some garlic bread. They are very tasty indeed, although I wasn't overly fond of the garlic and herb butter that was served with them. The balls are a nice size, just right to be eaten in two mouthfuls and you get sixteen dough balls in each box which seems about right to me considering the size portion I had received in the Italian ...  Read the complete review

Whenever we go to Pizza Express we often get a plate of dough balls to share amongst the people in our group as a starter as it is a very sociable way of eating and the dough balls come with nice soft garlic butter to dip them in or to put a thin sliver on top and allow it to melt. Well now you no longer have to go to Pizza Express to enjoy their dough balls as you can buy them from the supermarket chiller compartments. Each box contains 16 dough balls so can be shared amongst four or less people, they are easy to bake in preperation and they come with a garlic butter dip. The dough balls came out the oven a nice golden brown colour and there is a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review My wonderful doughy balls (155 words)

Dough balls are probably my absolute favourite thing about Pizza Express. I honestly think they are yummier than a lot of the meals they serve, but it's best to share them so that they only wet your appetite rather than serving to stuff you completely. The really great thing about the dough balls is the garlic butter that it is served with, and the scret to getting the most out of this is to tear the dough ball in half so it fucntions as a kind of spoon that allows you to scoop the butter into the softer part of the doug ball. Otherwise if you dip it into the outer, less absorbent part of the ball then the butter has a tendencey to just roll off like raindrops on an ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Pizza Express Dough Balls: A good addition to most meals (186 words)

If you have never eaten these at a Pizza Express restaurant or bought them from a supermarket then they are just balls of pizza dough which go quite hard when cooked. They are about an inch in diameter and taste really great, especially when dipped into the garlic butter which is always provided. Buying these is a warm up pack from Sainsbury's, I have found them to be a great addition to meals, because they offer something of a snack and something different to the rest of the meal. They are quite expensive I think however they are also surprisingly filling so bear this in mind if you are concerned by the price. To cook these, you just place them ...  Read the complete review
