Advantages: Nice taste

Disadvantages: Calories

Whenever we go to Pizza Express we often get a plate of dough balls to share amongst the people in our group as a starter as it is a very sociable way of eating and the dough balls come with nice soft garlic butter to dip them in or to put a thin sliver on top and allow it to melt.

Well now you no longer have to go to Pizza Express to enjoy their dough balls as you can buy them from the supermarket chiller compartments.

Each box contains 16 dough balls so can be shared amongst four or less people, they are easy to bake in preperation and they come with a garlic butter dip. The dough balls came out the oven a nice golden brown colour and there is a lovely fresh baked smell, they have a slightly stody centre and a crisp outer shell and taste just like the ones you get at Pizza Express. The garlic dip goes well with them and gives them a strong garlic flavour. On their own they are a bit bland, if you do not like garlic the other option is to dip them in some melted cheese which you would have to prepare yourself.

The only real downside is that each ball is about 45 calories so scoffing these with the dip added in willmean you soon pile on the calories but it is fine to splurg every so often and these make a nice starter if you are having a pizza night or before pasta meals.

Summary: Dough balls
