Being a big fan of Pizza Express, it didn't take me long to pop one of these in my shopping basket. Yes, it carries a hefty price tag for a supermarket-sold pizza (£3.99 for 305g) but in the restaurant the pizza is priced at £8.15 and I was keen to see if it would be as good: I wasn't disappointed! The Sloppy Giuseppe is a recipe of hot beef, green peppers and onions on a traditional base with mozzarella and tomato. The pizza comes in an attractive blue paper box with the restaurant's distinctive logo and a see through window. All you need to prepare the pizza for the oven is a drizzle of olive oil (this is recommended on the box and really keeps ... Read the complete review

It was whilst I was in my local Tesco supermarket the other day doing some shopping that it occurred to me that I had nothing in for tea that evening. I knew that my other half would be out straight from work that evening, and when this is the case I usually make myself a snack, and he gets a quick bite to eat when he comes in around 10 pm or so. With that in mind, I was looking for something quite quick and easy as I don't really manage to do too much in any one day due to my poor health and I knew I would be quite tired out after my shopping trip. With my intentions being to grab some fresh pasta or a ready meal or something similar, I scanned ... Read the complete review

I love pizzas but sometimes find shop bought pizzas a bit disappointing. That was until I discovered Pizza Express pizzas. Pizza Express as many people know is the very popular pizza chain of restaurants that you can find in most cities across the country and I have eaten there many times and enjoyed their pizzas. I was happy to discover that their shop bought pizzas were just as nice as the freshly made ones in their restaurants. The most recent pizza I have tried is the Sloppy Giuseppe pizza. The name doesn't give much away about what it contains but the name intrigued me. On the back of the box they tell you that the pizza is named after Giuseppe one ... Read the complete review

Introduction I am sure many of you will have heard of Pizza Express a popular Italian chain of restaurants that can be found all over the country. What I have recently discovered is that they also produce pizzas for supermarkets that you can cook yourself at home. I choose the Sloppy Giuseppe to see how the store bought one compared with a restaurant one that I had previously tried on my last visit to the restaurant. Background The pizza is named after its creator Giuseppe an Italian pizzaiolo and also the fact that due to the ingredients used it is quite sloppy, it is also an Italianization of the famous American burger a sloppy ... Italian is probably my favourite nationality for food. The simple fact is, I love tomato, I love dough, and I love mild strength cheese. Sainsbury's have a better than half price offer on Margherita and Sloppy Guiseppe 305g pizzas right now, so when I passed the aisle end I could not turn down the offer and got 3 of each!! These pizzas should not be associated with your standard chilled pizza - they are usually a lot more expensive, and they come from the Pizza Express restaurant brand. They boast that each pizza is hand made, and you should expect the same quality as the pizzas in their restaurants. The product comes in an all blue cardboard box, with little ...
