I bought a tin of these in the shop round the corner the other day. Tuna is very rich in protein and low in fat and can be eaten in salads, with potatoes (I am not able to prepare jacket potatoes properly, but I can mash potatoes) or on its own. Opening the tin (which by the way is made of recyclable material) was easy, although the lid required a bit of help with a knife to detach completely, but i think it is more due to the poor lid opener we are left at home at the moment. The tuna looked quite nice inside, I took off the brine (there is 185 gramms in each tin, but only 130 are of tuna) and poured the tuna into a plate. I ... Read the complete review

I though that for my lunch today I would have a jacket potato with a nice tin of tuna chunks. I have this quite often as it seems to give me the energy to get through the afternoon until tea-time and with having this stinking cold I definitely need something to get me through thats for sure! So I grabbed my tin of Princes Tuna in brine, which I put under the tin opener and pressed until the lid came off and carefully drained all the brine away. Now on first appearances you will see a lovely pinky colour fish sitting all in a row in tiny thick chunks. Now I usually just spoon this into a bowl and add some chopped cucumber, spring onion, tomatoes and a large ... Read the complete review

This is a product that I became very familiar with during my time at university for a variety if reasons and found it to be both cost effective, tasty and extremely versatile. One of the reasons I ate a substantial amount of tuna were due to the demands placed on me during a punishing rugby season and the restraints I had on my expenditure. I needed a great deal of protein if my body was able to recover in a timely fashion and also to reap the greatest benefits possible from my training regime in the gym. However, meat is an expensive commodity, and per gram of protein Tuna proves by far and away to be the most cost effective compared to things like steak and ... Read the complete review

On the days when I want something light I usually just open a can of Tuna Chunks, drain it and then throw it with a salad, in a sandwich or toss it with a little pasta. This tuna comes in an aluminium can and a can opener will be required as there is no ring pull on this can. It has a paper label on it displaying the Princes logo, a picture of the tuna chunks, ingredients (tuna, water & salt) & nutritional information. There is plenty of brine in the can and this keeps the tuna fairly moist and delicious and once drained off the weight of the tuna is 130g so you get 55g of brine in each can. Also, if you have a cat they might like to drink ... Read the complete review

Tinned tuna is an absolute staple in our house as my other half absolutely loves tuna mayonnaise and the like; he often takes it to his work with him for his lunch. Because we go through so much of it, I tend to try and buy it in bulk, as it usually works out to be a lot cheaper than buying individual cans as and when we need them. I usually buy supermarket own branded tins of tuna in brine, but at times there is a reasonable enough offer on a well-known brand of tinned tuna that will entice me to buy it and give it a try. I am not really loyal to any one brand in particular; I just tend to opt for whatever is offering the best value at the ... Read the complete review
