Advantages: Low cost per gram of Protein.
Disadvantages: Salt levels.
This is a product that I became very familiar with during my time at university for a variety if reasons and found it to be both cost effective, tasty and extremely versatile.
One of the reasons I ate a substantial amount of tuna were due to the demands placed on me during a punishing rugby season and the restraints I had on my expenditure. I needed a great deal of protein if my body was able to recover in a timely fashion and also to reap the greatest benefits possible from my training regime in the gym. However, meat is an expensive commodity, and per gram of protein Tuna proves by far and away to be the most cost effective compared to things like steak and chicken breast. This fact is compounded when you take advantage of the many Supermarket multipacks that Prince's offers.
It's also a great product for people who are health conscious as it has the added bonus of being extremely low in fat and carbohydrates (however higher in fat with the sunflower oil option).
Tuna is a great meal ingredient as well; Tuna Mayonnaise in sandwiches or jacket potato, tuna pasta bake, fishcakes, risotto and the list could carry on.
The most important thing with Prince's Tuna though, is that whilst it charges a premium compared to Supermarket own brands, I really noticed that it was of a higher quality than some of the Supermarket brands; less so with Sainsburys but very much so compared to Tesco's.
In summary I would heartily reccomend this. My word of warning though would be to watch the salt content with this one (brine gives it away); perhaps check out Tuna in Spring Water - more expensive in some cases but worth it all the same to control salt intake.
Summary: Great product - try in Spring Water as well.
