Marshmallow is a sugar based sweet that is basically made up of whipped sugar and gelatine, formed into a spongy square. You would think you can't really go wrong with choosing marshmallows, but you would be wrong. The main thing I find with marshmallows is that there isn't a leading brand that you can rely on. Many shops do their own brand, and none jump out as being really worthwhile. However, I recently bought a packet of Princess Marshmallows and all I can say is yum. First off, the way these often go wrong is the consistency - something like a flump is just too spongy and limp for me, and as a result lasts hardly any time as you wolf your way ... To start off I'm a huge fan of marshmallows, but a good marshmallow isn't too sweet, too sticky or too stodgy, so these were going to have to tick all those boxes in order to get a good rating. My experience of 'Princesses Marshmallows' however isn't all that great, and I'd much rather go with supermarket brand marshmallows rather than pay the extortionate price for these and get something that tastes a whole lot better. Firstly, I'm amazed that these marshmallows are £1.09 for a bag of 200g. It's outrageous that they can charge so much when 'ASDA' and 'Sainsbury's' offer a 200g bag at just 67p. I'm not a keen lover of marshmallows. I think they look great but I always feel a bit let down after I have had a few. It's a bit like buying candy floss at the fair; it's exciting but then you eat it and realise it's absolutely tasteless and you could just as well be eating a spoonful of sugar. BUT my attitude has been changed since I came across these Princess Marshmallows. These marshmallow come in a mixed bag of white and pale pink and are quite big in size. Unlike most mallows, they have a very sweet and distinctive taste to them. The other thing that I find really satisfying about them is the fact that they have a soft but hard outer, if that makes ... The first time that I ever felt remotely excited at the sight of a marshmallow was at a family wedding, I bet you have already guessed the reason why! There on a table was the most enormous chocolate fountain brimming over with lush milk chocolate and beside the fountain there were numerous things that you could dip into the running chocolate, including lots of fruit and pink and white marshmallows. Remember that episode of The vicar Of Dibley, when Geraldine had her first encounter with a chocolate fountain? What a laugh that was! Marshmallows are scrumptious full stop, the Other Half will demolish a packet in a few minutes and still look for ... Read the complete review
