Advantages: They are certainly different if you fancy a change
Disadvantages: None if you like them.
I happened to mention in the comments of another of my reviews that there are not enough lime flavoured products in the shops.
Then it completely came back to me that I had tried these out the other week.
So what you have here is the classic tube of Pringles, the same as any other but this time given a little bit of mystique in the guise of an unusual flavour - OK maybe not that unusual if you watch any of these telly chefs drizzling everything with a good squeeze of lemon, except they have moved on and it is now lime they use instead.
Back to the Pringles. You get your first one out of the tube and pop it in your mouth.
Now I will be totally honest and say I was not knowing what to expect. When the flavour hit my tongue I took an immediate dislike! It tasted like a kind of vinegarry woody sort of taste. Yeeuch.
I immediately put them to one side!
Later!
I am sat at the PC surfing the net as you do and feel peckish. The tube of Pringles are within reach, and I reach across - Iam thinking I will give these a chance as I can't be bothered going to the kitchen.
So I pop another in my mouth, and another, and keep going until I get used to the flavour. It is then that I start to taste the chilli. Then the acidity I previously put down to a vinegariness, starts to come through a little sweeter and less bitter.
These are not bad really. Although I won't be buying them again. They are an 'interesting' taste.
I did eat the whole pack, mainly because I didn't want to waste them.
I am not going to put them down though, they are an acquired taste, but I like my crispy snacks and need to really agree with the flavour to fully enjoy them.
Summary: Definitely an acquired taste
