My Christmas goodie cupboard wouldn't be complete without a tube or two of Pringles. We are still eating our way through these even now, so determined as I am to finish these off and start eating healthily once again, I thought I would let you all know about my love for these crisps.

Pringles have been marketed well over the years with their familiar slogan of "Once you pop, you can't stop". I always wondered about this slogan, but the minute I actually tried Pringles for the first time, I realised how true that was for a marketing pitch.

Pringles come packaged differently to other brands of crisps because they are in a tube rather than a packet. My tube is the ready salted flavour and they come in the traditional ready salted colours of red. The Pringles packaging also makes the most of their free advertising by placing some of their newer products on the back of the tube to promote these as well.
They are produced in Belgium by Proctor and Gamble which is something I never knew until reading the packaging for this review.

The tube is sealed with a foil lid, followed by a plastic pull off lid for when the foil one has been removed. The inside of the tube is also foil lined and I assume this is for freshness purposes.
I find you get a generous amount of crisps in the tube, and they always seem to be filled to the top, unlike some packets of crisps you can buy that appear half empty when you open them.

Each pringle is about the size of an average tumbler glass, but curved in an oval shape and made to look almost 3d. I find however that if you manage to get a whole one in your mouth (yes it has been done), then the contours of the crisp fits your tongue quite well before clamping down and crushing the crisp into tiny pieces.

The ready salted flavouring comes through from the tube in the flavour and smell of salt wafting up at you. Thankfully this isn't too strong as there is nothing worse than an over salted crisp. It makes me thirsty and puts me off eating the rest. These are lightly salted but you can taste the flavouring when you eat them.
The Pringles are wafer thin and don't withstand a lot of pressure from fingers or your mouth. They can be nibbled at but you will end up with a mess in your lap if you try. I prefer to pop them whole into my mouth and they soon disintegrate into smaller pieces ready for chewing. A lot of people take a handful at a time and do the very same although this requires a lot more effort when eating, and quite frankly looks quite piggish.

Going back to the slogan at the beginning of the review, I can whole heartedly say that once you have eaten one of these then you will have to eat some more. It does require willpower to stop eating them otherwise before you know it the whole tube will be gone and you'll be feeling sick.

Approximately half a tube of Pringles will provide you with 540 calories and 36 grams of fat. So you can see why you shouldn't eat more than a few of these at a time. The pleasure of consuming all those calories will cost you approximately £1.99 per tube, although they are often found on offer.

A great addition to your Christmas cupboard, despite the fact Christmas is now over.

Summary: a different crisp
