... a decent size, not small and dry like in some meuslis. This cereal tastes fairly sweet to me, as someone who usually eats rice krispies or weetabix, but not sickly sweet. I enjoy eating this at any time of day. It is a filling breakfast served with just milk, but can be dressed up with yoghurts or fruit if you fancy - banana works well. Generally I don't like cereal that is too sweet or that has raisins in, but I really quite like this one. I think it is like eating flapjacks for breakfast (nice!) but my husband w...more

Premium Review Quaker Oat Granola: Hard Work To Eat! (313 words)

Quaker has a good reputation for breakfast cereals and since I trust the brand I had no concerns about buying their Oat Granola cereal. At £1.75 for a 600g box this breakfast cereal is expensive. The box looks small because the cereal is heavy. However, you are only meant to have a small portion. It is made up of clusters of oats and raisins but the big raisins that are proudly announced on the packaging are fairly sparsely distributed. I found three in one bowlful. The clusters are small, or large depending on how hard you shake the box to break them up and some of them are so big and hard that they could quite easily ...  Read the complete review

Quaker Oat Granola is a tasty breakfast cereal which comes in a 600g box, I think this is the only size it comes in as I have never seen it in a smaller or larger size before. The box looks quite small for the weight and compared to say a box of cornflakes its about half the size but that's because the cereal itself is so compact and you do get your moneys worth. The cereal itself consists of oat clusters and raisins and although there doesn't seem to be a lot of raisins you can taste them with every mouthful maybe because they are "jumbo Chilean raisins"' lol, anyway the oat clusters are random sizes and can be pea size and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Quaker Oat Granola: Granola - a Grand Breakfast (319 words)

Oat Granola is part of my new drive to be [a little, at least!] more healthy. Granola is a generic term for a type of food [much as is, say, muesli]. The main ingredients should be oats, honey and nuts or seeds: after that it can be a bit vague. The Quaker Oats variety is oat based [rolled oats being 55% of the ingredients] and also has 9.8% raisins. Sugar is the second listed ingredient, so must account for more than 9.8% - this explains why it quite a sweet taste [there is also some honey]. The cereal is presented as clusters of the oats and other ingredients, which are quite crunchy in nature. I quite like this crunchiness, but I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Granola Crunch! (251 words)

My mother in law dropped off a few boxes of these the other day. They were on offer in Morrisons so she bulk bought and then having tried it, realised they were too hard for her teeth. So let that be a lesson to all you denture-wearers and sensitive teeth people out there. I do not find it too hard at all. In fact one of the best things about this cereal is its crunchiness. The granola consists of many oat clusters of varying sizes and lots of juicy raisins. The hard crunch of the clusters compliments the soft chewiness of the raisons. Overall it has quite a sweet taste, which is probably why I like it so much. With a young baby ...  Read the complete review

I like to have a bit of variety when it comes to breakfast cereal and these are made by Quaker and were on a buy two get a third free in my local supermarket so I decided to give them a whirl. One thing I noticed quite quickly when I first tried them is that they are quite sweet tasting and while this could be due to the fact that there are raisens in them in fact when I looked at the back there is a fair bit of sugar added so you cannot say that this is a ealthy breakfast option. The cereal is made up of oat clusers which vary in size but are on the whole quite small and there are also some nice juicy raisens, I was impressed that there are quite a few ...  Read the complete review
