Its that time of year, the weather has changed and its got cold and miserable quite quickly, Time to put the cornflakes back on the shelf and pull at the porridge. Quaker Oats So Simple Golden Syrup is a very good and appealing option. The box contains 10 individual sachets, each sachet contains 36g of yummy oats, chuck these in a microwavable breakfast bowl and then use the sachet again to measure out the milk, pour 1 sachet of milk into the oats. How easy! Nuke them in the microwave on full for 2 minutes. Within seconds of the nuking session starting the golden syrup flavour hits you and those 2 minutes can then feel like the longest ... I find eating the same cereal all the time is dull so I look out for others and this one caught my eye. I liked the packaging, a simple box with a photo on and I liked the light colours. I also recognised the Quaker Oats name so thought that the product might be good quality (rightly or wrongly!) and I liked the words 'So Simple', which to me suggests few or natural ingredients. I picked the box up and put it in the shopping trolley! I thought that it was quite reasonably priced, at about one fifty for a box. However, I have seen them more and less expensive than that. I also find that quite often there are some offers on this range in the supermarkets. ... Read the complete review

On these cold winter mornings, there's nothing quite like a big bowl of hot porridge to start your day. Oats so Simple Golden Syrup provides you with a bit of warmth inside, a filling but relatively healthy breakfast and is, in my opinion, a perfect way to set yourself up for a busy day. One of the best things about it is that is comes in easy to use sachets, so your portion size is controlled without you having to think about it - good for people like me who aren't awake in the mornings until the caffeine hits their bloodstream! You can use the empty sachet to measure out the correct amount of milk, then pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes and it's done! ... Read the complete review

One of my New Year resolutions this year was to ensure I eat breakfast every day, rather than just munching on a Rich Tea in order to be able to take my tablets. Breakfast isn't a hardship for me, it's just that I can't be bothered a lot of the time and it's such an important meal that I should really make more of an effort. I like all the different flavours of Oats So Simple, but particularly this Golden Syrup variety so I decided to buy myself a single flavour pack of these rather than the multi pack this week. This porridge style breakfast is so 'Simple' to make, just pour the oats into a bowl then use the sachet again to measure out the milk ... Read the complete review
