Advantages: Quick and easy, tastes lovely, good value for money

Disadvantages: None

Since giving up smoking (again!) I have made a conscious effort to try and make sure I eat healthily as I am ready worried about putting on weight. As most people probably know, eating porridge for breakfast is a great way to start the day. Personally, I find porridge alone quite boring and tasteless. This is where this product comes in, Quaker Oats So Simple Golden Syrup.

Packaging
This product comes in a cardboard box which is about 8 inches tall by 5 inches wide. The box has all the usual info such as product name, nutritional information etc. Inside the box, there are 10 sachets which contain the porridge.

Cost
A box of these cost £1.78 which I think is really good value for money considering you get 10 sachets in each box. This works out that each serving costs 17p - now 17p for breakfast isn't bad!

Preparing
This is another thing I love about this product, it is so simple to make. You literally pour the contents of one sachet into a bowl. You then fill the empty sachet with milk (there is a line on the sachet to show you where you should fill it up to) and then you simply pour the milk over the contents of the sachet in the bowl. Then you simply pop the bowl into the microwave for 2 and a half minutes and you will have the perfect bowl of porridge.

Taste
I think this product is really yummy. Admittedly, the porridge tastes sweet as the flavour of the Golden Syrup comes through. If you find that porridge by itself is too bland for you, then I think you would enjoy this product. It has the right amount of Golden Syrup flavouring for each serving, as although you can obviously taste it, it does not overpower the porridge at all. The consistency of the porridge is perfect after cooking it for the recommended time. It is not to stodgy and not too runny. I find this quite amazing because normally when I try to make porridge, I can never make it right. I have found that you need to make sure you stir the porridge well after adding the milk to ensure that the Golden Syrup runs equally through all the porridge as if you don't stir it, I have found that the flavouring can sit at the bottom of the bowl.

Summary
In summary I would highly recommend this product. If you normally find yourself in a rush in the morning and this is your excuse to skip breakfast, simply because you don't have time, then this product would be really suitable. It takes two minutes to cook and you can have a nice healthy breakfast. I actually have quite a large appetite and have found that this product fills me up until lunchtime and I don't feel the need to snack in-between which can only be a good thing. Each serving only has 132 calories too. 100% recommended.

Summary: Theres now no excuse to skip breakfast
