I love porridge but rarely have it because I cannot be bothered to make it and it always seems a bit bland. I don't think it tastes bland and thoroughly enjoy it whenever I make the effort but looking at porridge oats in a bag doesn't make my taste bus tingle! I started on Oatso Simple last year because it appealed to my deep-reaching laziness. You add the oats to a bowl, use the sachet to measure out the required amount of milk, add this to the oats and then zap in the microwave - what could be easier? Ok so it isn't much different from making up porridge yourself but it is perfect each time. My porridge never was! The apple and blueberry ...  Read the complete review

A couple of weeks ago my Weight Watchers leader stressed the importance of having a variety of different breakfasts throughout the week as most of us in her group were quite boring and ate one breakfast day after day, mine is Weetabix which I could eat for every meal for a month without getting bored! I took her advice in and while in Tesco I bought a selection of different breakfast cereals, as well as some foods that I could cook with to give myself a bit of variety in the mornings without blowing my Points allowance. One item that made it into my trolley was a variety pack of Quakers Oatso Simple. The box contains the Original, Apple and Blueberry and ...  Read the complete review

There's snow on the ground and a crisp feel in the air. The sky is blue and the sun is out. Winter is here and to herald its arrival I've decided that it's porridge time once more. Breakfast time in our household is a funny time. Some mornings are great, junior sits down, eats his breakfast and then the day can continue. Other mornings are utter chaos. Whilst traditional porridge is not hard to make it does require at least a little bit of attention to get it right. Thankfully, over the last few years the market in hot oat-based products has expanded greatly and there are now many quick "instant" alternatives. Oatso Simple is one such ...  Read the complete review

I love porridge and have recently again been trying various different ones. One of the cereals I've sampled is Quaker Oats So Simple apple and blueberry sachets. They are made by Quaker which are a well known brand. Therefore they can be found in all supermarkets including Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's. They can often be found in smaller shops too and little newsagents. Often they are served up at hotels and bed and breakfasts but I've never come across this before. They can be found in the cereal aisle alongside the other Quaker porridges. These particular ones were right next to the golden syrup and original versions. The sachets come in a box ...  Read the complete review
