... sweetened, you can use sugar or you could easily sweeten the oats with syrup or honey. Because the Oat So Simple is quite finely milled the texture is slightly different form my usual porridge, I like the coarser oats and so I miss the rougher texture but my Niece is enjoying the far smoother mixture. Because a box of Quaker Oat so Simple sachets costs just under £2 (unless you can pick them up on a special offer) I have been scanning the packet to see if they are enriched in any other way but the list of ingredients sta...more

Premium Review Quaker Oatso Simple: Simple and full of goodness! (1199 words)

For the past few weeks, I have been enjoying a warm bowl of weetabix in the morning for my breakfast, but to be quite honest, I was beginning to get a bit bored with it! I don't really eat toast in the morning, and I didn't want to go back to normal, cold cereal; these mornings are far too chilly for it, even with a piping cup of tea to accompany it! I was going to Asda that day, so I thought for a bit beforehand of what I could buy there to replace my morning weetabix portion, but I simply couldn't think! It wasn't until I browsed the cereals aisle in Asda that the idea of porridge came into my mind! I fleeted over to that section of the aisle, ...  Read the complete review

While the mornings are a bit nippy I usually have Oats So Simple Golden Syrup flavour for my breakfast but sometimes I fancy a change and then I have the original version and put a spoonful of St Dalfour Strawberry Jam in the middle. It is basically porridge which can be made in 2 minutes in the microwave. Yes, I know porridge is easy enough to make anyway but this is REALLY easy and that suits me well especially first thing in the morning! The first thing to say is that it is made by Quaker so we know straight away that it is going to be good. The cereal comes in boxes of 10 and 20 sachets and currently cost about £1.40 and £2.70 ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Quaker Oatso Simple: Simply the best - Oatso Simple (241 words)

This is my current favourite breakfast cereal simply because it is OATSO so simple to make!!! Each box that you buy either comes with 10 or 20 sachets in it. These contain 27g of oats which is a perfect amount for one bowl of porridge. This is excellent as you don't need to worry about weighing out the correct amount of oats and it saves loads of time in those hectic mornings! Simply rip off the top of the sachet and pour into a heat proof bowl, add the milk and microwave for 2 - 2.5 minutes. The convenience of the sachets does not stop there though! Inside they have a line marked near the top which tells you how much milk to use which I find incredibly ...  Read the complete review

I do like to have a bowl of porridge in the mornings every now and again and sometimes to give mysel a change I will use Quaker Oatso Simple. These come in small individual satches within a larger box and I do find that one satchet is enough at breakfast time. To prepare pour the satchet contents into a microwaveable bowl and stir in 180ml of semi skimmed milk. Then all you have to do is microwave it for two and a half minutes and then leave it to sit for a further minute. I do find you have to watch the time on this and it is worth checking it after a couple of minutes as I find that this is usually enough. There are a couple of flavour ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Quaker Oatso Simple: Simple but Costly. (696 words)

Quaker Oat So Simple, I agree that the idea is good. But I cannot convince myself that the individual sachets of porridge oats offer the same value as buying a larger packet of porridge oats and then measuring them out yourself. At the moment I am spending a couple of days with my niece, she is expecting her second child and she is suffering from the dreaded ante-natal depression. The milky foods seem to be slipping down well and I have managed to tempt her appetite with a small bowl full of sweet milky porridge every morning. I had seen the Quaker Oat so simple in the supermarket but this was the first time that I had ever tried using them. The ...  Read the complete review
