Advantages: Tastes nice, filling, low in cals and fat
Disadvantages: Not as nice as crisps - not as cheap either!
I am sure you have heard about Snack a Jacks they have been around for a number of years now, and this seems to be one of there newest flavours and its my favourite.
***WHAT ARE SNACK A JACKS? ***
If you have not heard about Snack a Jacks before they are a rice and corn snack, and an alternative to crisps and some people say they are like eating cardboard as they are alot different from crisps but so much better for you and your waist line.
I tend to watch what I eat, I don't want to eat crisps and chocolate every day but I do tend to go through phases of eating badly (don't we all?) but Snack a Jacks really provide me with an alternative as they are just 107 calories which is a good amount for a snack.
They 8% fat, 0.7g of sugar, 2.0g of fat which of 0.2 saturates and salt is 0.6g. They state one packet of these is 3% of your daily allowance of fat!
The texture of these is bumpy but they are crunchy and the taste does not really resemble sweet chilli that much, it's a very powdery taste. I really love the taste though as they are full of flavour.
You get a good amount in the packet too, not like some crisp packets where you open it up and there's like 10 crisps, I feel like the packet is actually quite full and they do fill me up too when I am feeling peckish.
***Ingredients***
Rice, maize (with germ removed), sweet chilli flavour [salt, sugar, flavourings, spices, milk powder, whey powder and lactose (from milk), flavour enhancers (monosodium glutamate, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate), citric acid, ground chilli, hydrolysed soya protein, celery, colour (paprika extract), sweetener (aspartame)], sunflower oil
Snack a Jacks are about 45p a packet in general but if you head down to Asda they have an offer of 5 for £2! Which is a fab deal so I tend to buy more when I see an offer on.
They seem to have lots of flavours too, from the top of my head Caramel, Cheese, and I can't think of anymore but there is a few more but I always tend to go with this flavour
Summary: Good if you want an alternative to crisps!
