Advantages: Little mess, pleasant taste, tingle and aftertaste

Disadvantages: None really, although I'm started to go off rice cakes!

---Intro---
Another day, another rice cake review (which I'm afraid will be very similar to my other rice cake reviews!), and today it's the Sack a Jacks Sweet Chilli flavour. This 26g bag was picked up at Tesco the other week in a 3 for £1.20 offer (and is best before some date 7 months down the line).

---Snack a Jacks---
Snack a Jacks are a range of rice cake snacks made by Quaker - visit www.snackajacks.co.uk to find out more about the range.

---The packaging---
The packet is a reddish colour. There's a picture of the snacks on the pack, and of course the nutritional info. Snack a Jacks have this thing on the packets where they "turn must-haves into can-haves" and the 'must-have' on my packet is "DIOR Make-up". You can e-mail them to let them know what your must-haves are if you so desire.

---The nutritional info---
The packet boasts that it contains 8% fat, which is the same as the Prawn Cocktail flavour (eugh!) but more than some of the other flavours.

My packet contains 107 calories, 0.7g sugars, 2g fat (0.2g saturates) and 0.6g salt. The main ingredients are Rice, maize (with germ removed) and sweet chilli flavour which consists of lots of things (including lactose from milk, so check if you have intolerances). They are suitable for Coeliacs and Vegetarians. A full list of ingredients can be found here - http://www.snackajacks.co.uk/products/snacks-sweet -chilli.aspx

---The eating experience---
I have high hopes for this flavour since hubby's told me that it's nice. On opening the packet there's a bit of an odd smell, can't really make out what it is.

The 1.5inch diameter snacks as usual are yellowy in colour.

First rice cake, and it's nice. Mind you, I've been here before and then found I didn't like the second one. So here goes with the second....yes, it's really not bad at all. This is such a relief after that horrible Prawn Cocktail flavour!

The chilli taste is mild, but I can certainly make out a sweet chilli taste. It does leave a slight tingle on my tongue, but it's not hot hot, just pleasant! Now this is the difficulty, how can I describe a sweet chilli taste except to say it tastes of sweet chilli? Actually, this is probably not a bad thing to say since the barbeque flavour didn't really taste much of barbeque!

Although each packet contains 10% of your RDA of salt, they don't seem particularly salty.

---Final Comments---
There were 18 and a bit snacks in my pack (I counted for review purposes!), this flavour don't seem to be as crumbly/breakable as some - I don't think I've handled my packet extra carefully!

These rice cakes leave very little mess on my fingers (and my desk), and just a pleasant aftertaste. I would definitely buy this flavour again as part of my repertoire of snacks. However, I think I need a bit of a break from rice cakes now so will leave them on the shelf for a while before buying any more!

Summary: A snack worth trying!

Not overloaded with calories, so might be the ideal snack for me because once I open a packet, I eat the lot.
