After trying and loving the Quorn Lemon Pepper Escallopes that are currently on sale at Tesco's for half price and that I recently raved about here on dooyoo, I went back to Tesco's today to stock up while they are still on sale. While I was there, I noticed these Quorn Peppered Steaks were also on sale at half price. They were £1.07 for two steaks - I quickly snapped these up as well. I decided to try these peppered steaks for lunch because I was quite hungry after my shopping trip (I walk to the shop and the way back is up a massive hill carrying all my groceries!). So I popped one of these steaks in the oven and started unpacking. I took the ... Read the complete review

Quorn Peppered Steaks are a great product from the Quorn range which I regularly use as my husband is a veggie. I actually find these are great for me on a low fat diet too as they are very low in saturated fat. These quorn steaks are in the style of peppered beef steak and although I would never claim that they taste anything like the real thing, they are very tasty as a product in their own right and are wonderfully filling and convenient, being quick and easy to cook. Each steak contains only 107 calories and 0.5g of saturated fat which equates to 1.5 weight watchers points per steak. Each steak is roughly the size of a small beef steak but looks ... I'm not a vegetarian but lately I've been trying various Quorn products! Quorn is a brand of non meat foods such as mince and chicken. One of the products I've recently tried is the Quorn style peppered steaks. Quorn products are available in all supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's. depending on what product it is you are buying, they can be found in the freezers, or in the refrigerators. They are easy to spot though and stand out nicely on the shelf. These products are found in the fridges alongside the other quorn fresh products. However some quorn products are frozen and therefore can be found in the freezer section. None of the ... Read the complete review

I've been eating Quorn products for years now, I regularly use the mince to make bolognese or the chunks in a curry and have tried the sausages but I wasn't aware of these peppered steaks by Quorn until I saw some reviews on dooyoo about them. Armed with the knowledge they existed I popped to our local Somerfield and found they were currently on offer at £2 for a pack of two. I have no idea how much they cost normally but I suspect it is somewhere between £2 and £3. Quorn, as I'm sure everyone knows, is vegetarian and derived from fungus. They do a wide range of products now including a Quorn roast which I haven't tried as yet. Quorn is low in fat, low in ... Read the complete review

Quorn have revolutionised the vegetarian market. When I first became veggie there was nothing much except TVP to eat, and certainly nothing quick to buy. However Quorn has come along almost for another reason. It was actually developed because of fears of global population growth and worldwide food shortages, which have not materialized as much as expected. The small organism found growing in a farm in Marlow in Buckinghamshire was researched for many years, named Quorn, and was finally licensed by Maff ( UK's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food) to be sold in the food chain in the 1980's. Now really targeted at the veggie market but actually developed for ... Read the complete review
