Wow wasn't expecting to like these (Quorn 2 Peppered Steaks)

I first tried these a few years ago and wasn't all that impressed. I thought that they were overpriced and wasn't all that sure about the flavour. Recently however I have been buying my husband steak quite a lot and I have been having little tinges of envy as he tucks into a juicy steak with some chips, mustard and a bit of crisp lettuce. I would bever actually want to eat one but when I saw these on offer at my local Tesco's I thought I would give them another try.

I paid £1.07 for a pack of 2 steaks and I believe this was a half price offer so at full price I think that they are rather expensive. I wouldn't say I have a massive appetite but I can polish two of these off quite easily so I don't think that a pack would serve two people.

Ok so next time my husband was eating steak, I cooked myself up the sam meal, substituting the meat for these Quorn steaks. I wasn't expecting all that muck, but do you know what? ... I was really pleasantly suprised. They tasted great, I had imagined them to be really dry but they were actually quite moist and succulent. The flavour was also really great and the peppercorns on the top really added to the appearance and flavour.

It felt like a really heart and satifying meal yet it didn't bloat me or make me feel uncomfortable. It was just a really enjoyable change and felt nice to be kind of enjoying the same meal as my husband. I would definately buy these again but probably only when they are on special offer.

Summary: A great meat alternative
