... I don't actually like black pepper but I was totally wrong, it wasn't the pepper I needed to be wary of, it was the lemon. The peppery flavour is not at all overpowering but I found the lemon really stong. It wasn't too sour or anything but it did taste like you dumped a whole load of juice on it. Still fine though but that is a point to watch if you don't like lemon flavour. I keep these in the freezer and cook from frozen - they take about 12 minutes in the oven which isnt bad really, I have also george forman gril...more

I'm not a vegetarian but lately I've been trying various Quorn products! Quorn is a brand of non meat foods such as mince and chicken. One of the products I've recently tried is the lemon and black pepper escalope's. Quorn products are available in all supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's. depending on what product it is you are buying, they can be found in the freezers, or in the refrigerators. They are easy to spot though and stand out nicely on the shelf. These products are found in the fridges alongside the other quorn fresh products. However some quorn products are frozen and therefore can be found in the freezer section. None of ...  Read the complete review

It was whilst I was looking in the "Chillier" cabinets in my local Asda supermarket (in the Vegetarian section, as I had veggie sausage and mash in mind for dinner) that I spotted that several products with the "Quorn" brand name on them were on special offer. Having been vegetarian in the past, a lifestyle of mine that had a span of a decade, I have tried several Quorn products over the years, some of which I still buy regularly and some of which I detest. The Quorn Escalopes have proven to be a bit of a "hit or miss" with me, usually due to whatever coating or stuffing they have - some of them are just not to my ...  Read the complete review

Since we have started with this healthy eating regime I have found that I do spend a fair amount of time in the kitchen. Dave helps where he can but he has been resting his ankle after having an operation so most of it has been up to me. Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy cooking and have enjoyed making sure that we have been eating healthily but just occasionally I do feel a bit idle - don't we all? It was for times like this that I had bought a few of the Quorn ready prepared things such as steaks, escalopes etc. Quorn and most of its derivatives are 'free' food on our diet so we can have them anytime. We decided to try the Lemon and Black Pepper Escalopes ...  Read the complete review

I bought a pack of these Quorn Lemon and Black Pepper Escalopes in Tesco a few days ago. They were on offer at £1.21 for a pack of two, instead of the usual price of £2.43. I buy quite a few Vegetarian products, as I'm not that keen on the taste of meat, and we have had these in the past, and really enjoyed them. Even my husband, who is a keen meat eater, always enjoys these escalopes. The Lemon and Black Pepper Escalopes are to be found in the chiller section, near the ready meals. They look quite like two chicken breasts, coated in breadcrumbs and fried. The cooking instructions suggest baking them in the oven for 12 minutes, from chilled, or grilling for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Quorn Lemon & Black Pepper Escalopes: A versatile product. not too fond of the flavours though (303 words)

Having been a vegetarian for many years now I've always been ready to try the latest vegetarian food out on the supermarket shelves, but I was actually quite disappointed with these escalopes. I saw them while they were on offer in Asda for £1 and grabbed a pack to try. The escalopes are an average size with a light breadcrumb coating which looks a lot better after cooking. They're very easy to prepare, they just need to be popped in the oven or under the grill for the best part of 15 minutes and they're ready to be eaten. The fillets themselves were quite nice, typical of Quorn style chicken and probably some of the nicely supplement meat you ...  Read the complete review
