~*~ Ragu Sauce ~*~ I think I could happily eat pasta every day for the rest of my life and not get bored. There are just so many possible combinations - cheese sauce, tomato sauce, cannelloni, lasagne, spaghetti, chicken pasta, salmon pasta.... Anyway! I always make sure I have a stash of pasta and a couple of jars of pasta sauce for when I have nothing else in the cupboards (which is about 75% of the time to be honest...). One of my most recent finds was Ragu pasta sauce, which I only actually tried for the first time last week! ~*~ The sauce ~*~ The ingredients of this sauce include tomatoes, lemon juice, onions, parsley, ... Until very recently it had been ages since I had cooked a spaghetti bolognese and on a recent shopping trip I was lured in to buying a jar of ready-made bolognese sauce by some clever supermarket marketing. ****The jar**** The jar is pretty boring and uninspiring and consists of a typical clear glass, enabling you to see the colour and consistency of the sauce, with a small turqouise label on the front with a picture of a tomato on it. It was not the jar that attracted me to this product at all. It was the supermarket's own marketing ploy to sell this sauce that got me to pick up a jar. When making a spaghetti bolognase this has become my favourite sauce to use. I have tried all manner of sauces and for me this one definitely has the best flavour compared to that of the likes of Dolmio etc. The packaging has changed to that of the above picture. Still in a clear glass jar though is far more attractive to the eye now and far more updated and modern. A 500g jar of ragu costs around £1.31 in tescos, pretty cheap for a named brand compared to some others i.e Lloyd Grossman sauces and sometimes they are found on offer for £1.00 so keep your eyes out for a bargain. The sauce has a real spicy tangy tomatoey taste to it and ... Read the complete review

I am a big fan of carbs and love having big bowls of fresh pasta and making big gorgeous lasagnes and spaghetti bolognese, theres nothing like comfort food on these cold winter nights. I have been buying Ragu Bolognese Pasta Sauce for a few years and the last time i bought it, it cost me around £1.10 for a jar from my local corner shop. I had it with boiled pasta tonight. All you need to do is boil some pasta in hot water. Drain when cooked and then stir in some Ragu sauce. I serve this on a plate and sprinkle cheese over the top - gorgeous! Im my opinion, Ragu sauce is nicer than some of the more expensive brands of pasta sauce like ... Read the complete review
