In 1957, this brand of porridge originally launched as instant porridge. In 1969, it launched as a hot cereal. In June 1990, the Weetabix company purchased the brand and they have sold it ever since. It is best served warm as I cannot express how vile it would be if served cold! There are actually three types of Ready Brek being the original flavour, the chocolate one and also a 'seriously oaty' flavour. I used to hate this as a child but over years I have become to love it. It has quite a unique flavour despite looking so sickening and it is lovely on a cold winter's day. It is also very good for you and contains many nutritional benefits for your ... Ready Brek is something I used to eat on winter days when I was a child. There was something very warm and comforting in the glowing porridge mix and it gave me energy and insulation. As I got older I turned to grittier porridge cereals like Oats so Simple, Lyles and Scots. The memory of that smooth, distinctive Ready Brek mix never left me though, and I recently purchased a box to see if it is still as good as I remember. The product comes boxed and the fine porridge oats are contained within a plastic bag inside this box. The bag must be cut open and can't be re-closed. Due to the fact that the Ready Brek oats are so fine in consistency the pieces of flour ... Read the complete review

With winter upon us its time to fill yourself up with a lovely filling breakfast. Ready brek comes in 3 different flavours chocolate, original and yummy honey flavour and is made by Weetabix. The great thing about this is its so easy to make unlike gloopy porridge oats that take forever and I can never get the consistency right. Yes I know its good for you but give me ready brek any day. Easy to make just choose the amount you would like and stir in some milk to your desired thickness and blast it in the microwave for 60 seconds. If you have a sweet tooth like me I add sugar before nuking but it is also nice with golden syrup stirred in ... Read the complete review

***Ready Brek*** Well there is a bit of a nip in the air and for me that means the Ready Brek comes out to warm me up and keep me going until lunchtime. ***What's it like?*** Ready Brek is essentially porridge, but porridge that is finer than coarser porridge oats you can buy on their own. These days it comes in all kinds of varieties from the sachet option (more expensive) so that you don't have to measure the amount you need to a chocolate flavoured option. The box is mostly orange, with some handy little symbols that tell you: # It is microwavable in 90 seconds. # It has no added sugar or salt. # It is ... Read the complete review

Ready Brek is a sort of porridge that you can buy from various supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda and Ocado. It's an original porridge oat cereal and the oats are finely milled. The porridge is rich in calcium and has no added sugar or salt. It is also fortified with vitamins and minerals. You can buy it in either a 500g or 750g box at £1.76 and £2.03 respectively, which isn't bad at all as Ready Brek will give quite a lot of tasty breakfast meals. It's ideal in the winter as you have it warm with hot water or milk preferably. The porridge comes in a golden box with a very large red 'Ready Brek' logo across the front. There are a couple of box designs - one ... Read the complete review
