Advantages: interesting idea, novel, cheap

Disadvantages: lots of okay sweets but not many nice ones

Revels. What a novel idea. A bag full of unlabelled chocolates in different flavours, waiting to surprise your taste buds with something you didn't expect.

I'm not that fond of surprises, to be honest, and I normally eat my chocolates in an "order", saving the best til last. However, Rebels are different shapes so you can mostly tell what the chocolates are going to be in advance. There is still some measure of uncertainty though. For one thing, the orange (yum) and coffee (yuck!) Rebels are suspiciously similar in shape and you might end up with a nasty surprise there.

The different flavours and shapes are as follows:
- Maltesers. My favourite. If you don't know what a Malteser is you should go and check the reviews for that now or go and buy a bag. They consist of a kind of crispy stuff that's malt-flavoured (hence the name) and covered in chocolate. These are the biggest ball-shaped Revels and fairly easy to spot because of it.
- Orange. These are quite nice too. I generally like orange-flavoured chocolates but these are a bit on the sweet side and have a "gritty" rather than a "gooey" texture. They're ball-shaped too but not as big as the Maltesers.
- Coffee. I don't like these. The coffee flavour is too strong for my liking (I like coffee-flavoured yoghurt and ice cream where the flavour is weaker, but can't drink coffee itself). Very similar to the oranges in texture and size/shape.
- Peanut. These are okay. Basically just a peanut covered in chocolate. Easy to spot as they are peanut shaped (rugby-ball shaped).
- Toffee. I'm not a big fan of these. They're way too chewy for my liking.
- Minstrels. These are basically just chocolate so anyone should like them (if you don't like chocolate you probably won't like the rest of the packet anyway). They're flying-saucer-shaped - shaped like Minstrels but without the sugar shell.
- Raisin. Just like chocolate raisins which you can buy in packets elsewhere, or get from pick 'n' mix. Shaped like a raisin covered in chocolate.

I like the way you can still tell most of them apart (bit more difficult in the cinema or somewhere where the lights are out) and the novelty value is interesting but I'm not sure any of the sweets are nice enough (except for Maltesers and arguably the chocolate raisins since those two are the only ones that sell separately) to buy a whole bag of them - and if that's the case it's not really worth getting a bag of Revels either.

Summary: A mixed bag - interesting but not really worth it
