You get lots of slices which are approx 15mm thick which makes them good for toast or sustantial sandwiches & the bread is a nice white colour with a good texture which isn't too doughy or yeasty. I also like the way the crusts are of a good size & that the slices are fairly 'springy' to the touch which gives the illusion that it's 'fresh' (although obviously preservatives are on the list of ingredients). Apparently Roberts have been making bread & bread products since 1887 but I must have missed something as I've never heard of them until hubby came home with a couple of loaves the other day. I usually shop at Iceland or online at Tesco & have never seen their products but I do believe they're on sale at Tesco, Morrisons & Aldi etc although hubby bought 2 loaves for £1.76 from Costco. We usually have Warburtons (or Hovis white when on offer) so it was good to try something which is around the same size but a different brand. If you have read some of my previous reviews you will know that I do quite a bit of my shopping at CostCo. This is another foodstuff that I buy on a regular basis. Partly because of the cost - at £1.76 for two loaves is is very reasonable and also for the taste. This bread is lovely and soft. The crust is firm but not too hard - so I don't get too many complaints from the children. The texture is springy and not at all soggy. The bread is also not as sweet tasting as some breads tend to be at the moment - co-op own brand is a good example of this.
