Advantages: Amazing taste, unique design

Disadvantages: Fatty

I was shopping in Iceland this afternoon and came across Roysters, some crisps I hadn't eaten since I was a small boy, so I just HAD to pick some up, and to my delight, they were just as tasty as I remembered. Roysters offer three flavours that I am aware of, but the T-Bone Steak is by far the most delicious.

Roysters crisps are famous for having a very bubbly texture, giving them a very distinct brand identity in the same way that Real McCoy's are very distinct for their ridges. Furthermore, Roysters crisps are a little thicker than the likes of Walkers, and so provide a very satisfying crunch when you sink your teeth into them.

They also have a very strong flavour - the meatiness is very pronounced when you eat the crisps, and there is also a very pleasant meaty aftertaste. The flavour may be a little too strong for some, but I thought it only enhanced what already has a very nice texture without flavouring!

The crisps have a very low calorie count, but they do have a fair amount of fat in them - a little above the likes of Walkers if I recall, although they are a bit thicker than Walkers which would seem to account for this. Not to mention, they are more flavoursome than most of Walkers' BBQ-type crisps, so I consider it a price worth paying.

These crisps are very difficult to find these days, but I can report that Iceland are selling multipacks at the moment, so it might be worth popping down to your local one and enjoying these whilst they're still around!
