Advantages: Low calorie

Disadvantages: Can become a little boring

At a paltry 114 calories for a bowl of Rice Krispies it makes a cracking start to your day.
If you need to sweeten your cereal use a sweetener (you won`t notice the difference), add semi-skimmed milk and you`ve got a high carbohydrate energy boosting breakfast.
Kids love this cereal too with the obvious appeal of the decades old "snap crackle and pop" advertising campaign.
There are many own brand versions of this cereal on the market and having tried a couple of them I can honestly say that my son didn`t notice the difference but I did.
I wouldn`t buy any other version as I think with breakfast cereals you usually get what you pay for. As the advert says "If it doesn`t say Kellogs on the box it isn`t Kellogs in the box".
I wouldn`t advocate eating rice krispies every day as they can become a bit boring, I have sickened myself of them once or twice.
And don`t forget that if you want to give the kids a tasty treat on the cheap all you need to do is warm some milk chocolate up and make Rice Krispie cakes.

Summary: A low calorie cereal that hits the spot
