... mouthful. ****Taste**** Rustlers claim this sub contains "hot, tasty and tangy meatballs in a tomato and herb sauce". The tangy and tasty part is way off the mark and the hot comment is only applicable because the sub comes out of the microwave steaming after the allotted cooking time. These meatballs have a strange taste and it is not pleasant, once again I can only liken it to a fart. Luckily, the tomato and herb sauce is quite pleasant so it takes the edge off the meatballs and makes them almost, but not quite, bearable. If t...more

Premium Review Rustlers Hot Subs Tangy Meatballs: "Whatever denied it, supplied it" - a fart in a packet (1096 words)

Further to my experience with the BBQ rib sub, which was actually quite enjoyable, I thought I would try another one of the huge Rustlers finger food microwave range. Being a great fan of meatballs, and particularly the subway variety I thought the meatball sub would be the ideal one to try. I picked a couple of these up from my local shop the other day . I try not to eat too much junky food, but I'm going away in a couple of days so I'm trying to let my fridge run down so nothing spoils. At the trial price of £1 each, these looked just right for a filling lunch. The sub comes packed in a see through plastic container with a printed lid, which tells us this is Rustlers Hot Subs Tangy Meatballs With Tomato & Herb Sauce, and has a colourful photo of the sandwich on the pack . The bottom of the pack has a label with cooking instructions ( in my microwave, this was simple, heat inside it's cardboard sleeve for 55 seconds, turn over, and ...  Read the complete review

When it comes to snacking I'm the worlds worst for it to be honest. I usually am so busy that I like food I can simply bung in a microwave and eat. I simply can't be bothered in cooking for just little old me! The other day I come out of the gym starving! It was late at night and I needed to eat, shower and go to bed so I wanted nothing too complicated to cook myself and nothing too heavy on my tummy and that's when I saw this in my local Nisa store. The Packaging: The sub comes in a see through plastic oblong container and the lid peels off with ease. On that I'm told it's Rustlers Hot Subs Tangy Meatballs With Tomato & Herb Sauce ...  Read the complete review
