I have been using pesto sauce in cooking for years, mainly in pasta dishes but more recently put it to the test in other recipes and each time it has been a success. So what is pesto sauce? The basic ingredients of pesto sauce are fresh basil, Parmesan cheese and pine kernels, bound together with olive oil. It is simple enough to make and I have made it many years ago but it does involve getting the blender out or using a mortar and pestle. However since discovering Sacla's Pesto range, there has been a jar or two in my store cupboard.
