SAINSBURY'S BASICS FRUIT COCKTAILS When my future son in law came over to dinner the other night with my daughter, he brought a tin of Sainsbury's fruit cocktail as a offering for desert, and i did think oh well at least he has contributed something. The Can is white and has the usual orangy red stripe across the top of the tin, and does show an illustration of what looks like a little cocktail glass filled with fruit. During the week I try to eat as healthy as possible but I tend to crave rubbish in the evenings which is why I always have tinned fruit in the fridge for that very moment. Despite the fact that tinned fruit cocktail reminds me of that scene in 'The Royal Family' where they eat it after a roast and the whole scene implies that this particular pudding is a paupers dessert, I like it and eat it a lot. The fruit costs around 20p but the prices in supermarkets are going up and down so quickly these days, I'm not sure what it is exactly. The other day in Sainsbury's I walked past my usual favourite aisle of snacks and chocolate and got to work at finding some healthy options! I love fruit and vegetables but have never really indulged in canned/tinned offerings before and it was something I have really wanted to try for a while! I get through so much fresh fruit and vegetables that stocking up on a few 'emergency' products so I don't starve seemed a mighty fine idea!
