Advantages: good chocolate, great taste, cheap
Disadvantages: not healthy :-)
I'm a big fan of the Tesco Value product line and I thought I give the rival brand a go and bought the Sainsbury's Basic Milk Chocolate. I was quite disappointed by the Basics lemonade but this here is a Sainsbury's product I can easily recommend!
Sainsbury's Basics offers the 100g milk chocolate bar for only 27 pence - an unbeatable price. I definitely found it's way im my usual shopping!

Packing:
The chocolate bar comes in the well known orange and white wrap in paper with silver foil on the inside. I quite like the design of the Sainsbury's Basic range; with the orange script and drawing it's much nicer than the Tesco Value design.
All the important nutrition information, allergy advice and ingredients are given on the back.

Look & Taste
When I opened the packing I was a bit surprised by how dark the chocolate was, not like the other milk chocolate I bought before. Already a bit disappointed I assumed it would taste more like dark chocolate than the milky variation. But far from that, it had a lovely taste and was definitely not too 'heavy'.
On the other hand it didn't really melt well - which is not a big disadvantage and doesn't really colour my experience.

Nutrition & Ingredients
The milk chocolate contains mainly sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, cocoa mass, lactose, whey powder, soya lecithin, polyglycerol polyricinoleate, flavouring is vanilla. Well, that sounds unhealthy!
In 100gram (the whole bar) you have:
Energy - 506 Kcal
Protein - 5.9g
Carbohydrate - 62.5g
Of which is Sugars - 61.3g
Fat - 25.8g
of which is Saturates - 16.4g
Fibre - 2.1g
Salt - 0.3g
of which is Sodium - 0.1g
Sugar, calories - ah, I don't want to know!
-------------------------
Price & Value
For 27 pence a bar you cannot really ask for much but this chocolate surprised me - a lovely, creamy taste, melts easily and is incredibly cheap! What more can you ask for?
I'll give it a 10 out of 10, cheap, lovely taste and good quality!
Summary: a bargain for 27p per bar
