This is mozzarella made from cow's milk rather than water buffalo milk (as in buffalo mozzarella). I think it is fine for using in salads but the gourmets amongst you may disagree. However, I would be surprised if anyone could tell the difference when used on pizza or in a pasta bake. It is a very reasonable price (47p for 125g) for a very reasonable product. The bonus is that the packaging can be rinsed and recycled in one of the plastic bag recycling bins at the larger Sainsbury's stores.
