Delicious Tasting Cheese Subs From Sainsburys.

I have been trying to eat healthy lately and sometimes I like to have the odd treat that's not too bad for me and is something that I can really savour and enjoy. I really fancied ham sandwiches so I was wondering around the bread aisle looking for something that was going to be tasty and really worth the calories that I would be consuming.

The usual price of these two sub rolls are 69p but I found mine for just 34p on a half price special offer in store at Sainsburys. It really was the price that lured me over to the shelf first and then I noticed that they had cheese on the top which is perfect for me as I love all things with cheese.

These rolls come in a polythene bag which is nothing special just showing you all the usual nutritional information, ingredients, best before date etc. These can be frozen as the packet advises and the packaging really is nothing special but gets the job done. It's strong enough not to easily tear when rubbing up against things in my shopping bags.

These subs are very soft when I get them out of the packet and have a nice length to them. I sliced mine lengthways so I can stuff the middle with ham and the softness is carried throughout the entire sub. The bread smells delicious and the plain bread on the inside is lovely and thick and tasty. The cheese on the top is cooked to perfection and there is a nice generous cover over the top of the whole sub without being too overpowering and the taste is nice and subtle. The quality of these subs is very good as it's nice and soft throughout without falling apart when I'm spreading it with hard butter. The sub slices very well and does not fall apart even with a serrated knife.

Overall I am very pleased with the quality of the sub as it tastes yummy regardless of the filling and I'd be happy to purchase these, even at 69p. The bread is very taste and these have a lovely smell to them. These are even yummy if sliced up and toasted and topped with a little garlic butter as something different to garlic bread.

        Disadvantages

        Filling and reasonably priced!

Loving bread the way I do the other day I spotted these and really fancied them. I love cheesy types of bread and priced at 69p for two rolls I was simply like lamb to the slaughter!

        The Packaging....

Mainly see-through oblong plastic packet with a mint green coloured section to the bottom and the back with pictures of corn on it and on the front I'm told they are Sainsbury's 2 Cheese Topped Sub Rolls, the best before date is clearly stamped on and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there. On the back of the packet ingredients and allergy advice is listed along with nutritional information being given and storage advice (these are freezable), contact details for Sainsbury's are given and finally there is a bar-code on there. Nice simple packaging and it's informative enough!

        The Subs....

Lovely! Really really nice in every way! When you take them out of the packet you are met with a fresh bread smell followed with a mature cheesy smell. They are long and white in colour with dried on cheese in abundance on the top of it and you can see a slight speckle of herbs to the top of it too.

These are fresh, bouncy and taste like well seasoned bread really. Easy enough to cut without them falling apart though they do crumble a little bit of course they simply are very filling. I like the way they are called cheese subs and they really are that! The cheese used is mature and tastes wonderful against the bread!

Moist and fresh I think these are lovely!
