It tastes lovely, although I did find it quite hard to get out of the tub, but then most ice cream is unless it's soft scoop. This is great on its own (and it is more-ish) or used in an ice cream smoothie(put some of everything chocolate you have in the blender and enjoy - i.e. ice cream, some vanilla too, cocoa powder, chocolate mil...more

A tub of Haagen- Dazs and a good romantic movie hired from Blockbusters are the stuff that dreams are made of...the total cost? £3.75 for the hire of the film and £3.89 for a half a litre of Haagen-Dazs Ice cream. So if you get your film and then trot off to the local Sainsbury`s and buy a 1 litre tub of Sainsbury`s Cookies and Cream Ice cream for £1.95 (or two x 1 litres tubs for £3.50, on offer at the mo) you are making a substantial saving, in fact a saving of nearly £2. The purist may disagree with my sentiments but I know good value when it stares me in the eye. Sainsbury`s have potted this icy delight in a polypropylene tub and lid ...  Read the complete review

The weather really doesn't call for ice cream at the moment, but we usually have a tub of something in the freezer for when we want a dessert after dinner. Our latest offering was Sainsbury's own Cookies and Cream ice cream. I bought it because it was on offer at only £1 for a 1 litre tub. Usually it's £2 for the tub. It's still a reasonable price compared to other brands of ice cream. We try to experiment with flavours and stay away from the standard vanilla unless the occasion calls for it. I am a bit fan of Ben and Jerry's Cookie and cream, and whilst I wasn't expecting it to be the same, I was looking forward to trying it. The packaging it ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sainsbury's Cookie and Cream Dairy Ice Cream: Creamy and yum! (178 words)

This is one of my favourite icecreams! Sainsbury's cookies and cream icecream is often on offer in the freezer section and you can sometimes pick it up for £1 a tub, which is good value as it is quite a large tub. The icecream itself is primarily vanilla with swirls of chocolate sauce running through it. It is also interspersed with large chunks of chocolate cookie dough. The icecream is nice and creamy, without being too rich. Which results in it being rather more-ish, which isn't always good for the figure! Explaining why I don't buy it too often! The chocolate sauce that runs through the icecream is pleasant and nicely ...  Read the complete review

My boyfriend is a huge fan of Ben and Jerry's icecream. But as I am now the breadwinner I have been attempting to curb his habbit. Hence me buying the Sainsbury's Cookie and Cream Dairy Ice Cream. The tub costs £2 which means it is considereably cheaper than Ben and Jerry's so a good start. When you first open the tub it looks absolutely delicious, with lashings of chocolate sauce on top, scrummy. However, unlike Ben and Jerry's the Sainsbury's ice cream is not the same throughout. The chocolate sauce is just on top, to entice you in. Anyone who buys cookie icecream is buying it for the cookie dough pieces inside, and the ones in the icecream are ...  Read the complete review

I'm a big fan of Haagen Dazs Cookies and Cream ice cream, but let's be honest, it's rather pricey for the amount that you get. So when I discovered, while browsing Sainsburys online, that they did their own version for almost half the price and twice as much (£1.95 for 2 litres) that was me sold. This isn't as good as HD, but it's certainly not bad at all. There are chocolately pieces, and chocolate flavour streaks through the ice cream, and chocokate sauce on top.
