The heads and stalks have been snipped off, so upon using, the only thing you need to do is give them a rinse and pat dry with clean kitchen towel. If you want them in smaller pieces, you cut them to your preferred size with sharp scissors or a kitchen knife (I find using scissors does the job more efficiently).
