That is a big statement as their bakery does the most divine varieties of bread and rolls etc. Another wonderful way to serve is toasted as the result gives an almost malted taste to the bread. Harvest grain can be purchased both in a small and large sized loaf. Beautiful on its own with just butter or w...more

With the price of bread increasing in leaps and bounds, I think it is important to know that what we are buying is nutritious, tasty and good value for money. In a larger Sainsbury's store, you can smell that delicious bakery aroma as soon as you walk through the doors, even if the bakery is way over the other side of the shop. Sainsbury's provides a wide variation of on-the-premises freshly baked pastries, cakes, rolls, savoury pastry snacks, and of course their delicious fresh-baked bread range. The Harvest Grain Loaf is very dense and substantial, yet it still manages to retain a fluffy lightness which is very pleasing and digestible. There ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brilliant bread from Sainsburys! (691 words)

I love bread but I am very fussy! None of these processed ready packaged loaves for me! - I like my bread baked fresh from the bakers! However, it probably won't have escaped your notice but there are not many actual bakers shops around anymore! (the same as the butchers, the greengrocers, the fishmongers and so on!). So the next best thing is to go to Sainsburys and buy from their in store bakery which is really just as good! The instore bakery bakes a multitude of different loaves which come in all shapes and sizes, but my favourite of all has to be the Harvest Grain loaf. This is one of those lovely granary ones which comes with all sorts of different seeds ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sainsbury's Harvest Grain Loaf: Where do I find Harvest grain like Sainsbury (299 words)

This is a loaf I really miss as I am now not near a Sainsburys store and really wish they would bring one up to the Highlands as we could do with one near Inverness. I remember it well though and although this is a passing memory of this loaf I feel I can justify writing a small review about it. The loaf is like most others oblong in shape and has a crusty topped outer. Made of wholegrain it has a knobbly feel to it. On cutting a slice or two after getting it home you get a sense of homemade from it as the smell of freshly made bread invades the kitchen. I butter the sliced bread and taste it as if for the first time and yes I remember it ...  Read the complete review

sainsburys Harvest grain loaf, the first time I tasted it, took me back to my childhood when my mum made her own bread. Dad was fanatical about brown breads and wholegrain this that and the other. The absolutely delicious smell of this bread even before it is tasted is mouthwatering. I usually get a couple of these at a time or we all end up fighting over it. Its just sooooooo homemadish!!!
