Sainsbury's Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake

After reading a review about this, I thought i'd give my view as I tried this a month ago. This is pretty pricey at £5.49 normal price. We got it reduced to £3.49 as it was best before in 2 days, and we thought since we were needing a dessert for that night, then we would get through this no problem. This was from Sainsbury's. This is found in the Chiller section on the bottom shelf in my local. You can see the Cake as it is under a clear plastic dome. Sainsbury,s Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake. Having been to Sainsbury,s cake section at just the right time yesterday, managed to beat your price the last reviewer and got two of these lovely cakes for £1.37p each, one for me and one for my daughter and having read your review just reminded me how lovely this cake was. Still got half in the freezer, as it does tell you that you can freeze this cake too. Now this cake is something worth talking about, even more so when you see it in the chiller cabinets for half price at just £2.74 (Unfortunately this offer has been and gone so you will have to pay £5.48 for it). What a bargain! The cake looks amazing in it's packaging because it sits in a black tray but the top is open and clear so you can see exactly what you are getting and you are getting a lot. The cake is huge and although it says it serves eight I got more portions out of it than that. We were browsing for pudding for a family meal in the refrigerated deserts section of Sainbury's, and came across this cake. It serves 8 (quite generously as I ate one 6th and would normally eat a 1/4 of a typical 'serves 8' cake!), and at 343 calories, 32.2g sugar and 15.6g fat per slice, it isn't the healthiest choice. However, it was completely worth it as it was the best cake I have tasted in months.The cake itself is rich and moist, but not sickly and it is covered in silky 'chocolate frosting' and fudge piece.
