... from chilled. I was actually very surprised by this product, it didn't taste like your usual repacked rubbish, (you know when you can tell that the butter sauce has been poured over some unseasoned chicken), this was a premium and similar to butter chicken that you'd order in an Indian restaurant. You also get a lot of curry and chicken for your money and considering the fabulous taste it is well worth the £3.29 price tag. The chicken is marinated and it is so tender, moist and juicy. The sauce contains butter...more

Premium Review Sainsbury's 'Moghlai' Butter Chicken: So much more than butter chicken! (859 words)

I do love a good curry and go out for Indian food quite often. However some times you can't get out to eat as often as you'd like for some reason or another so I quite often have meals that I can just bung in the oven or microwave cos I'm not the world's greatest cook sadly and I like food that I can just warm up because I'm a lazy bones lol. On a Saturday as if I stay in my Mother on a Friday always gets me some Indian food from Sainsbury's when she's out doing our weekly shopping (I live at home lol) and this was one she treated me to last week. The Packaging.... The meal comes in a plastic black oval dish and you can see the meal ...  Read the complete review

I absolutely LOVE Indian food! Like most people I have a favourite local restaurant that I go to, but it's about 15 minutes away and doesn't deliver, so it's not always possible to get there easily. I was shopping in Sainsbury's recently and found myself standing in front of their Indian section. Butter Chicken was the flavour that really stood out for me so I decided to give it a try. Now this Butter Chicken can be bought in 2 ways, it either comes pre packed, although the packaging has changed compared to the dooyoo pic above, or if your Sainsbury's has a fresh food counter it can be bought there. I'm a true MSEer (hands up, you know who you are!) and as ...  Read the complete review

I don't usually shop at Sainsburys, but I popped in this evening after a busy day and I wanted food... quickly. I went over to the fresh curry counter and it was closed, so I went over to the repacked section, the curries there were more expensive (£3.29 per curry), I was a little put off by the price but I decided to purchase it anyway. I wanted this food quickly so I put it into the microwave. The item was chilled, so it took five minutes to heat up (it takes about 10 minutes to cook from frozen). To cook in the oven you have to preheat it at 190oC / gas mark 5 and cook for 40 minutes from frozen and 25 minutes from chilled. I was actually very ...  Read the complete review

I tried Sainsbury's Moghlai Butter Chicken a few days ago, and I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty it was! I do enjoy a good curry, and often go to a local and excellent curry house, but as we fancied something quick and easy (and it was chucking it down so stayed in), we bought some curries from Sainsbury's, and this one topped the pile. Although it is a creamy sauce with some coconut in, it isn't as mild or creamy as a korma, but has some good spices to give it a little kick. I particularly rate this curry, not only because the flavour is very good, but also because of the generous helping of succulent chicken. The chicken survived the microwave ...  Read the complete review
