A delicious bagged salad from Sainsbury's.

I eat quite a lot of salad and prefer to buy the prepared bags from the supermarket for convenience, this one from Sainsbury's is one of my favourites as it contains a nice selection of flavours and all the salad items are crisp and fresh.

For £1.14 you get 270g of salad, which for me is between two and three servings depending on how hungry I am. The ingredients in this salad are Iceburg Lettuce, Grated Carrot, Cos Lettuce and White Cabbage - I wouldn't normally give you an ingredients list but I just wanted to make you aware that this salad bag contains pure salad foods with no oil or preservatives added.

The flavours all work beautifully together and I find this a very refreshing salad indeed, the crispiness of the Iceburg Lettuce is wonderful while the carrot adds a little sweetness to the overall salad. Even the white cabbage is of excellent quality, it's crunchy and flavoursome without overpowering the rest of the ingredients. The Cos Lettuce is good too, although there is not enough of this in the bag for my liking really and I find what small amount in there are very small leaves.

Overall I think this is a great bag of salad to keep in the fridge, especially now the weather is turning warmer. It goes well with everything, a sprinkle is especially nice on a burger straight from the bbq because I find the sweetness of the salad compliments the meat wonderfully and adds a much more interesting aspect than simply putting some lettuce and a tomato on top!
