Sainsbury's Strawberry Jam

We are not big jam consumers in our house which is why this pot of Sainsbury Strawberry Jam that is sat in front of me has been in the fridge for a number of weeks, not to worry as the use by date is March 2010 which gives you some idea just how many preservatives are in this product . It is such a rare purchase that I have no idea how much this 908 gram ( weird amount ) jar cost me. I had some of this with my croissants this morning. Although we changed to Tesco as a trial last week, previously we've shopped at Sainsburys for years so we still had nearly a whole jar of this in the cupboard. It costs 69p for a 454g jar which I think is exceptional value for money when you think how much you can easily pay for some of the brand name jams. And this is every bit as good as the brand names! It's lovely and sticky with a great strong strawberry smell and taste. I adore toast and what goes better with two slices of warm toast and butter than jam? Well I always thought that was the case till lately and me being a toast lover has been very upset with the jammy situation of late! Now let me just explain. I can eat as many as 8 slices of toast a day or crumpets, muffins or croissants or a mixture of both.
