Advantages: Yummy, great value
Disadvantages: Not enough in the pack
On my many trips to the cinema I refuse to pay the ridiculous prices for sweets that the cinema sells. There's a Sainsbury's across the road from my local cinema so I often pop in there quickly to buy some cheap sweets which I then sneak into the cinema in my bag!
I usually like chocolatey type sweets or a mixture of small gummy sweets but a few months ago my friend got these Strawberry Pencils which I tried. I ended up liking these much more than my own sweets and, since then, I haven't bought anything else.
These are soft strawberry flavoured sweets which are a long and thin shape - like a pencil! The outside is red and has a very sweet strawberry flavour. Inside the red outing is a white soft centre which simply tastes very sweet and sugary.
There are only around 7 pencils in each pack which means that they are always eaten up very quickly. But, as they come in what seems like a permanent offer of 3 for £1, you can buy a range of different sweets to share or just 3 packs of these if you like,!
These are also sold in Asda (Asda's Strawberry Cables) for the same price, but I prefer these ones as the Asda variety always seem to be too floppy and soft.
The pack contains 75g of sweets which contains 377 calories in every 100g and only natural colours and flavours.
These are now my favourite sweets and I have to have a pack every time I go the cinema - but I do have to hide them from my husband as they seem to disappear very quickly when he's around!
Summary: My favourite cinema sweets
