... He lovingly placed the pudding in the bag, along with some carrots and left the store. The cool air hit his face and he was suddenly struck with a thought. Sticky toffee was his favourite, but not his wife's. Had he been sacrificial enough in his pudding choice? It was too late now. Later that evening, as he tried in vain to peel the plastic film off the container, Rob wished he had decided to microwave it rather than put it in the oven. But after a brief struggle with the plastic, he managed to take it off and co...more

Crowned Review Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Sticky Toffee Pudding: Diet? What diet? (672 words)

Oh, the pleasure! I had the house to myself. The kids were in bed and all was quiet. Opening the fridge I look at the Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Toffee Pudding I had brought earlier in the day and glance at the clock. Was it too late for such indulgence? Not on your nelly! I whipped it out of the packet and pierced several holes in the film wrapped lid, straight into the micro for 2 minutes and there in front of me was the most amazing looking dessert I had seen in a long time. The “loaf” of pudding was entirely adequate for three people, but as I was alone in the house and the diet had gone out the window for now, I thought “what the heck”, ...  Read the complete review

Oh Sainsbury`s why do you keep on doing this to me, the chilled dessert counter is stacked with creamy concoctions that just draw me like a bee to a honeypot. Have you ever stood there and seriously studied those indulgent puddings? With me its fast becoming a hobby and I feel as though I know the puddings personally. Steamed spotted dick is always falling off of the shelf into my shopping basket, followed by one of those neat little containers of ready made creamy custard. This Sticky toffee pud seemed to be a new kid on the block, or I needed to visit the optician. £3.29 was all I needed to buy my little bit of heaven and lets face it whats £3.29 ...  Read the complete review

I am normally a loyal ASDA customer, but recently called into Sainsbury's on my way home, because...well it was on my way home! I normally find Sainsbury's to be quite expensive, but I must admit that when they have offers they are generally quite decent ones. There are some really good 1/2 price offers at the moment and this is how I came across this little beauty! I absolutely love Sticky Toffee pudding and normally limit myself to having this as a treat when I am out for a meal, but for the price of £1.72 for a 400g pudding I could not resist (the packaging says this serves 4, but to be honest, it is so rich that after eating a quarter of it I am certain ...  Read the complete review

£3.49 for a sticky toffee pudding for 4? It had to be done. It was a crisp autumnal evening and this was the sort of comfort food to cheer the hearts of a young couple in love. "Do you have a nectar card", said 'Doreen' on the checkout. "No", Rob replied, thinking that the pudding was bargain enough without needing nectar points too. He lovingly placed the pudding in the bag, along with some carrots and left the store. The cool air hit his face and he was suddenly struck with a thought.
