Lovely idea. The problem is that there are 9.3grams of salt in every jar, which makes it almost inedible. That also represents 155% of the RDA for salt. In one apparently healthy jar! The last time I had some as a 'healthy' sauce to pour on my (Sainsbury's) pasta, thinking that I would also catch up on some of my five units of fruit &and veg, I tasted it & then threw the lot away. There was so much salt in it that I nearly gagged. The surprising thing is that there is no mention of the vast quantities of salt in the sauce on the front of the label, simply a description that can be summarised as 'lovely fresh tomatoes mixed with not so lovely tomatoes, to ...

What is sugocasa? No, it's not some new kind of confectionary house. To sum it up: sugocasa is a kind of posh preserved tomatoes. It's a sauce, made with fresh fruits with a blend of herbs and just a smidge of garlic, which possesses a lovely vibrant, red colour. One look at it and you know this is a product that's going to be very, very good for you indeed. Sainsburys Taste the Difference sugocasa comes in an absolutely giant 700g glass bottle, with a twist off lid. Unfortunately, this is put on the jar rather tightly.
