Sainsbury's Party Bites Duck Spring Rolls: ... in Sainsbury s on Christmas Eve I decided to buy a selection of their party food to take to my daughters house on Christmas Day, I knew she would do a big dinner but thought I could warm a few bits up and put them out on the table buffet style in the evening. One of the items I bought was these Duck Spring Rolls, I ve had these loose from the deli in Tesco and they are very tasty so this packet jumped into...

Sarahjh Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Sticky Toffee Pudding
... Sainsbury`s why do you keep on doing this to me, the chilled dessert counter is stacked with creamy concoctions that just draw me like a bee to a honeypot. Have you ever stood there and seriously studied those indulgent puddings? With me its fast becoming a hobby and I feel as though I know the puddings personally. Steamed spotted dick is always falling off of the shelf into my shopping basket, followed by one of those neat little containers of ready made creamy custard. This Sticky toffee pud seemed to be a new kid on the block, or I needed to visit the optician. £3.29 was all I needed to buy my little bit of heaven and lets face it whats £3.29 when you are trying t...

Emmald Sainsbury's Rumbledethumps
... `Rumbldethumps` has the thumbs up from me, but it isn t as good as a home made bubble and squeak. `Rumbledethumps` is a dish from the Sainsbury`s Classic range and they have conjured up their own interpretation of a traditional Scottish dish. A 450g pack comes priced at about £1.70, the pack would serve two at the most, so it works out at about 80p a portion. The Rumbledethumps comes in a foil container and the cardboard lid is foil backed too. Then there is a red outer cardboard packaging sleeve which shows a clear picture of the dish and has the nutritional and calorific values clearly marked. When you first lift the foil backed lid from the pack...

Emmald Sainsbury's Raspberry Conserve
... preserves and conserves are well worth paying just that extra penny or two for. Time and time again I have been lulled into a false sense of security and have snapped up a so called bargain pot of conserve, only to find that I have been robbed of my hard earned money and have had to disguise it in pastry and pass it off as Jam tart. The last time I fell hook line and sinker was in a discount store and as grown woman I should have known better. The conserve looked inviting, both the jar and the overall colour tempted me. I was sure that I could see large chunks of Apricot floating in that jar, but when I decided to spread it on my slice of fresh bread it showed its ...
