I try most Biscuits out there. Yes, the premium or brand named ones normally have the edge, but sometimes Budget ones are alright, even if they are a bit on the small side normally. I got these out of Sainsbury's as Basics are the budget brand of this shop. These cost me 39p for a 250g pack, so a good bit cheaper than the Maryland equivelent ones. The pack isn't that exciting. It is a white cellophane type wrapper which keeps the Biscuits tightly in the pack. The Cookies are stacked on top of each other, but there's still a few crumbs falling out the pack. Bit odd as it looks like there is no room for the Cookies to move and get broken. The only ... Read the complete review

I love biscuits but we just can't keep them in the house or they get eaten in one go. We usually go all out at the weekends and eat whatever rubbish that takes our fancy. This weekend I thought I'd give these a try along with the long awaited return of the Wispa Golds that I had patiently been waiting to remember! They cost around 40p for a packet that weighs 250g which I don't think is too bad at all considering that a name brand is twice or three times this amount. The cookies are quite small on first glance but they are rather thick. They are a golden brown in colour and you can see a fair few chocolate chips sticking out of the front and back. ... We don't usually buy a lot of biscuits in the weekly shop but this week I decided to try some of Sainsbury's basics range and see how they compared to other biscuits we buy for treats. The chocolate chip cookies are packaged in the same basic packaging all the items from the basics range are, in plain white wrapping with orange stripes and lettering. There is nothing fancy about it, but you do get a nice sized packet for your 40p. Compared to a 150g packet of Maryland cookies for 88p, this 250g packet from Sainsbury's is very good value in monetary terms. The cookies aren't as large as the ones from Maryland, but that's just a good excuse to eat more ... Read the complete review

When I saw these in the biscuit aisle recently I threw some in to my basket without much thought and it wasn't until last night that I tried them out. The biscuits are provided in a white plastic bag with the familiar Sainsburys Basics logo and orange & white colouring as well as the relevant nutritional information as well as picture of one cookie. The cookies themselves are probably just under 2 inches and they don't appear to have many chocolate chips in them (when compared to more expensive brands) however these are lovely and crunchy whilst being crumbly at the same time and the chocolate chips are a welcome treat in each mouthful.
