... find. This peanut butter can settle a little if left in the cupboard too long and this is easily rectified by just giving it a stir with a knife before you spread in on to your toast. This needs to be spread quite thickly on toast to give it a generous coating and the peanut butter is quite thick and hard to spread on normal untoasted bread. There are lots of peanuts in this and you can see this as soon as you begin spreading. The peanut butter has a lovely thick taste to it which will spread all over your mouth, as it did mi...more

I sometimes work long hours and I have times when I just can't be bothered or when I want something nice and satisfying for breakfast on these cold wintry mornings. I usually have a variety of spreads in the cupboard and peanut butter is always one of these. Over the years I have tried a huge variety and I generally find them all to be of a similar quality. This Sainsburys basic peanut butter is provided in a glass jar with a screw top lid and everything about this product shows you that they are making cost savings hence the cheaper price. Sainsbury's Basic Crunchy Peanut Butter Since moving to central Edinburgh, our nearest supermarket has become Sainsbury's. We are a good long 50 minute walk from the large store and 10 minutes from a smaller one, so we can generally get most of what we need between these. Some of the basics products are not available in the smaller one, such as this peanut butter, but the smaller store is generally pretty good for offering other products in the basics range and lots of reduced things. Great to get a swoop of cheap bread late at night to spread this peanut butter on! Peanut Butter goes so quickly in our house that we decided to see if we could save ...  Read the complete review

Review of Sainsbury's Basics Crunchy Peanut butter. **SAINSBURY'S BASICS CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER**. The Product I have to admit that I am addicted to peanut butter, it is something that I eat daily or I develop withdrawal symptoms. Peanut butter is one of those love it or loathe it foods and I am definitely in the love it category. As a vegetarian, I kid myself that the calorie intake of my large consumption of peanut butter is offset by the protein content....... Well, I did say I kid myself! I particularly enjoy my peanut butter on toast, when accompanied by a slice of cheese and an apple this makes a really ...  Read the complete review

I have been trying a lot more of Sainsbury's Basics products over the last few months, since I moved to an area with a Sainsbury's within walking distance. One of the products that I have tried is the Basics Peanut butter. This costs 69 pence for a jar, containing 340g, which is very good value, when compared to the branded peanut butters. The peanut butter is packaged in a clear glass jar, with a white metal lid. On the label, it says that it is 'not so nutty, still crunchy'. The ingredients list states that the peanut butter contains 87% peanuts, as well as rapeseed oil, sugar, palm oil and salt. The peanut butter has a quite thick texture, and there are ...  Read the complete review

SAINSBURY'S CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER (basics) Yet another great value for money jar, slightly less nutty than the well known brand but still crunchy. The Jar ********** Screw off/on lid in white metal, glass jar recyclable, contains 340 grams. Crunchy peanut butter part of the Sainsbury's basics range, and it smells like any other peanut butter i have brought, is cheaper has less nuts in than sun pat, but i must admit it is still very crunchy and i found that spread on toast it really is lovely. Im all for saving a little bit of money, and i do keep my jar in the fridge once openned, my preference, and i do ...  Read the complete review
