Advantages: thick chocolate, tangy orange jelly and squidgy sponge

Disadvantages: not quite orangey enough

I am a huge fan of jaffa cakes, but when I was a student I always used to buy the no frills products and try and save my pennies by buying the supermarkets own brand of everything.
I thought I would try these as I love jaffa cakes and didnt think I would notice the difference. They cost around £1.00 for 24 in a pack which is quite good.
When i tried one, they were great. The chocolate was nice and thick and there was an adequate amount of orange jelly in the middle.
The sponge at the bottom was soft and slightly squidgy and absorbed the jelly well when eaten.
Overall this jaffa cake was yummy, and I couldnt really tell the difference between the supermarket own brand and the branded ones we normally buy. The only thing I would say is that they are not quite orangey enough for me, but that could be personal preference.

Summary: overall much cheaper than the branded ones, and yummy too
