When I was little my mum used to buy these every now and again and just the look of them drove me and my brother up the walls. We used to get so excited but nine times out of ten we'd have to eat all of our tea before we were aloud one. Boring!! What are they? Screwballs are raspberry ripple ice cream that comes in a plastic see through container. The lid is usually a thin paper one that is easy to pull off and a thin layer of ice cream tends to stick to the lid, a bit like a yogurt. At the bottom of the cone is a round chewing gum inthe shape of a ball which come in different colours. You also get a little coloured, plastic spoon to eat it ... Read the complete review

Ahh it's summer time, the sun is shining, the sky is blue (well at least where I am it is) and I have the perfect excuse to indulge in wonderfully naughty snacks and ice creams. While I will occasionally pretend to be grown up I can't help but love the kiddies ice cream treats, one of my favourites being Screwballs. Screwballs have been around since I was a little girl, you could get them from the ice cream man or the shops, it didn't matter where, just as long as you were presented with the joy that was a yummy ice cream treat with a little surprise at the bottom. Screwballs are essentially raspberry ripple ice creams presented in a plastic cone with a ... Read the complete review

Well I've been having problems lately - we've been having beautiful hot weather and I've needed something to treat my twin boys too to cool them off. They are just 19months old and become increasingly frustrated with tiptops and lollies as they just can't grasp the concept that ice lollies melt - this leads to tantrums and paddies which as you can imagine are the last thing I want on a boiling hot day lol. They enjoy yoghurts though and ice cream they try feed themselves too so when I seen a box of screwballs in Iceland for a £1 I thought they'd be worth a try. They can melt to a yoghurts consistency if they preferred or they can start off hard the way ice ... Read the complete review

Oh these icecreams always remind me of my childhood. I always remember the icecream man coming round and me asking for a handful of screwballs. When i saw these in the shops i had to buy them, i love the icecream its very creamy and very delicious. However, i must say i think plain vanilla icecream works best with screwballs. What i love best about screwballs though is when you get to the bottom, because the bubblegum ball which is at the bottom, often the flavour mixes in with the icecream and i love the flavour. The bubblegum is then the final thing, sometimes you can get really yummy bubblegums, my favourite the red ones. But sometimes they ... Read the complete review

As well as an ice cream, Screwballs contain chewing gum in a little cup at the end of the cone. That's basically what they are, ice cream and chewing gum. The ice cream itself certainly tastse nice enough and is pretty standard to a raspery ripple kind of flavour. The texture of the ice cream is typical too, and certainly not too hard that you can't dig at it with a plastic spoon. The portion size of the ice cream isn't too great for adults, certainly gone in just a few good mouthfuls, but good be the perfect amount for kids. But just remember regarding the chewing gum at the end of this ice cream, it tastes disgusting! Eat these ice creams for the ... Read the complete review
