Naans originated in Afghanistan and came to India with the mughals.The nomads carried the dough which got fermented and they cooked it over a earthenware skillet.Though initially it was limited to the Northern India and Restaurants, it has now become a very popular dish with many Indians including the Punjabis and Pakistanis.There are many varieties of Naans.The special varieties come added with herbs and whole spices like Jeera(Cummin) and sesame.
