I like making curries at home, because let's face it - it's not always possible to go out and pay £15 for an Indian meal. I like this particular curry sauce because it is cheap, easy to use and it tastes nice. I always think that a chicken tika is a good meal to make if you have guests coming over, because the majority of people are happy to eat chicken tika. *********Price and nutritional content************ I normally pick this source up from my local pound shop and I pay £1 for it, but if I pick it up at the supermarket I will pay about £1.60. Sharwood's Tikka Masala Curry Sauce...... In stead of cooking up a large Sunday dinner today we decided on having a nice curry. There is nothing better than a takeaway when you don't feel like cooking but feel like gorging but since we are trying to hold back on spending the pennies we decided to make our own. Sharwood's Curry Sauce is perfect for when you want to do minimal cooking but get the maximum taste. The Sharwood's Curry Sauce range comes in various different flavours of curry ranging from the mild and creamy Korma up to the hot and spicy Jalfrezi. We decided on the Tikka Masala for the fact that we both like a tomato based curry ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sharwood's Tikka Masala: is this curry sauce too hot to handle?? (465 words)

I love curries and I regularly attempt to make my own sauces from scratch. However I can't get the taste right and so I usually resort to ready made jars of sauces. Ready made curry sauces can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes they taste lovely and authentic, similar to what you would find in an Indian restaurant, but sometimes they taste foul and are quite stodgy. I find that Sharwood's Indian cooking sauces are very good and remind me of what you would find in a restaurant. Going for a curry at a restaurant can cost over £10 so making curry from a jar is a far cheaper alternative. A 420g jar of 'Sharwood's Tikka Masala sauce' will set you back about £1.50 ...  Read the complete review

I find making sauces from scratch just dont taste like the real thing! I am so rubbish at cooking, but can just about manage sharwoods sauce with quorn pieces, vegetables, rice and naan. I love curry, and love going out for one with my mates, however I cant afford to do this all the time even for £7 for rice, curry, naan and popodums at my local curry house. So this sauce is the next best thing. This sauce is one of those that you just heat up in a pan, mix in quorn and boiled vegetables and rice and you have a curry! You literally just have to heat up the sauce for 5 minutes, and I find it tastes better mixed with the rice before ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sharwood's Tikka Masala: sharwood like some curry (196 words)

Sharwoods make a great range of sauces one of which is their Tikka Masala which I am about to review. I was looking for a quick fix for a curry and stumbled on this rather nice version of Tikka Masala, cooked it as directed and put rice with it although chips work well too. It tasted good just as you would expect a Tikka to taste, not too hot but just hot enough in spices and slightly sweet. It had a fruity quality too it which I quite liked and felt I would buy it again. I have since then bought various different varieties and always end up with this one. My favorite of all curry sauces in a jar. This sauce is suitable for ...  Read the complete review
