Whenever my mum fancies crisps she buys prawn crackers because she doesn't like many brands of crisps and prefers the light crispy texture of cracker snacks. She even thinks QUAVERS are too stodgy, the woman is seriously weird! lol These Sharwoods prawn crackers are wicked, I love it when she buys them because it means I can have a bit of a munch up on them. They cost nearly £1.00 for a 60g bag and that's quite dear, but there's something about this brand that sets them apart from all the others we've tried. Part of it is that Sharwoods prawn crackers are a bit thicker than most so you've got a good mouth full to chew on. The thicker size ... Read the complete review

I don't usually purchase prawn crackers from the supermarket, mainly because if I do eat Chinese food I would usually go to a restaurant. However yesterday after quite a busy day Mr Lools and I decided we would cook Chinese at home, and what better to accompany our (home cooked from scratch) Chilli Beef are prawn crackers. Picking up the Sharwoods brand, I had faith that these would be a good choice. ***Packaging*** The prawn crackers come in a bright red foil bag. There is an oriental design on the front of the packet and the Sharwoods logo on the front of the pack. Underneath is an image of the prawn crackers contained within the bag. ... I do a lot of home cooking to save money and sometimes I want a change from my usual budget and on these occasions I usually cook an Indian or Chinese at home and what else do I want to go with my egg fried rice & chicken chow mein but prawn crackers! The packet is plastic and there are 60g of prawn crackers within the bag. The crackers are quite large in size and are very crunchy when you bite in to them and will make lots of mess everywhere if you aren't careful. There is a fairly fishy scent to the bag but nothing overwhelming and I think that these are just as nice as any bag I have ever picked up with a takeaway. Also, these are far more convenient ... One of my favourite parts of a Chinese take away are the prawn crackers and so when I found out that you can buy ready to eat prawn crackers from Sharwoods I was quite excited and interested to try them and see whether they were as good as authentic, proper Chinese Prawn Crackers. Sharwoods is a British food company which has actually been around since 1889. I would say they are probably the most recognized maker of foreign cuisine products in this country. They produce sauces, breads, noodles etc for use in Chinese, Indian and South East Asian cooking and in my opinion are generally very good. Apparently, according to an article I read they hold the largest ... Read the complete review

I love to cook Chinese meals at home and like to have some prawn crackers to accompany the meal. In the past I have cooked these crackers myself buying the dried version from the Chinese supermarket and deep frying them but more recently have found its much less hassle to buy them ready made. One of the makes I have bought a few times is the Sharwood's Prawn Crackers. The prawn crackers come in a 60g foil bag and are ready to eat kept nice and fresh and crisp in the bag. The expiry date on my current packet is in 3 months time so you can buy them and store them for a while in your cupboard but mine never tend to sit there long enough! Sharwood's ...
