Advantages: They fill you up rather fast, and are filled with wholegrain goodness!

Disadvantages: The nana comersials are cute, but who would seriously want to eat something knitted by their granny?

My daughter loves Shreddies, I first discovered them when visiting a friend, who was serving breakfast to her kids. My daughter stole one off a plate and started munching them like a biscuit, she seemed to really enjoy them so I started to buy them as treats instead of "Farleys Rusks". It was cheaper and lasted much longer, without all the mess the Rusks would make on her clothes.
Recently I started mixing them with milk and giving them to her for breakfast and she loves that even more! And finally I had to see what all the fuss was about and I started eating them for breakfast too.
I add a few raisins to give it some flavor and chewiness, as unless you eat very fast, towards the end they will be a bit mushy.

About Shreddies...
Sherridies have been around since 1995 and consist of four layers of interwoven wholegrain, malted wheat strands.
This product does contain sugar, and I was a little disappointed in that, as I thought I had finally found the cereal that tastes good and does not have sugar! But the amount is minuscule in caparison to the sugar frosted version, which I would not use for small kids for health reasons.
Because the Shreddies have four layers, it gives it a nice crunch when you bite into them, and it takes longer for them to absorb the milk, thus keeping them slightly crispy longer then some other cereals.
They are advertised as being knitted by nanas, and I have to admit I had a good laugh as I read the package, and learned who had personally knitted my pack.

Summary: A nice breakfast cereal, that can be enjoyed by the whole family!
